What happened: The Big Ten availability report released Oct. 7 listed Moore as out 11 days after a head hit from Desman Stephens II on a scramble against USC on Sept. 29 left him in fencing posture and removed on a stretcher. Dylan Raiola will make his first start for Oregon after Moore returned to practice in a limited capacity this week.

Why it matters: Raiola threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns in relief, including the fourth-quarter go-ahead score that moved Oregon to 3-1. UCLA coach Bob Chesney said his team is preparing for either quarterback, citing little drop-off between the two. Lanning said the staff will continue to do what is best for Moore as he progresses.

By the numbers: Oregon is 3-1; Raiola in relief vs USC: 289 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, go-ahead score in fourth quarter.

What to watch: Oregon faces UCLA in Week 6 with Raiola starting. Moore's practice participation will determine his availability beyond this week.
