What happened: Pablo Lopez was listed among finalists for the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award. Minnesota congratulated the right-hander on the selection after he did not throw a pitch in 2026.

Why it matters: The honor recognizes off-field leadership and service alongside on-field performance. It keeps Lopez prominent as a lone Latin American voice in MLBPA leadership. The nod preserves his club standing despite the lost pitching season.

What to watch: Watch for the winner to be named among the finalists during offseason awards announcements.
