What happened: Detroit (3-2) opens its NFC North schedule at home against Green Bay (4-2) in Week 7, facing a Matt LaFleur offense that ranks fifth in the NFL at 269.3 passing yards per game. Quarterback Jordan Love directs a West Coast Shanahan system that uses 11-personnel on 60% of snaps and funnels two-thirds of its targets to wideouts Matthew Golden (26%) and Christian Watson (22%) alongside tight end Tucker Kraft (17%). On defense, Lions coach Dan Campbell noted Green Bay has forced seven takeaways across its last two outings.

Why it matters: Early division positioning is at stake as Detroit looks to exploit a sharp schematic imbalance in Green Bay's attack. While the Packers rank third in the NFL in explosive pass plays and have drawn 135 penalty yards on deep throws through six games, their ground game sits last in the league at 59.8 yards per contest. Green Bay's offensive line has also allowed 97 pressures (29th) and a league-worst 2.36-second time to pressure, giving Detroit's front an opening to disrupt Love when Green Bay cannot lean on early-down play-action.

By the numbers: Green Bay averages 7.5 yards per pass play (12th) and 0.05 EPA per pass (13th), but converts 50% of red-zone trips into touchdowns (22nd) with Jordan Love posting a league-low -0.24 red-zone EPA (32nd). Love throws deep on 15.5% of attempts when leading compared to 6.67% when trailing. On the ground, the Packers rank 32nd in rushing yards per game (59.8), yards per carry (2.9), rush EPA (-0.29), rushing success rate (30.4%), and stuffed-run rate (25%).

What to watch: Running back Josh Jacobs returned to practice this week and is eligible to play as Green Bay tries to spark its 32nd-ranked rushing offense against the Lions in Detroit on Oct. 25.
