What happened: Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs addressed the team and expressed remorse as his return to active game action approaches. Head coach Matt LaFleur also spoke regarding the running back rejoining the lineup after questions circulated about how much the Packers missed Josh Jacobs during his absence.

Why it matters: Getting a proven workhorse back transforms the offensive ceiling for Green Bay in the 2026 regular season. Selected 24th overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama, Jacobs carried the ball 234 times for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns in 15 games with the Packers in 2025. That volume and goal line efficiency cannot be easily replicated by committee backs.
