Packers waive Travion Fluellen after Aug. 11 signing

The move opens a roster spot for tight end Jonnu Smith.

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Aug 301 min read

What happened: Smith signed his one-year contract Saturday. Fluellen spent the final five weeks of 2024 on New Orleans' practice squad without appearing in a game.

Why it matters: The corresponding move completes Green Bay's addition of Smith during the 2026 preseason. Fluellen's latest NFL stop follows a 2025 season in which he went unsigned.

By the numbers: Fluellen recorded 197 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, five interceptions and 16 pass breakups across 36 games at Middle Tennessee State.

What to watch: Fluellen's next destination is the remaining question as preseason roster decisions continue.
