What happened: The Florida Panthers recalled forward Cole Reinhardt, who pushed for an opening night roster spot in training camp, from the AHL's Charlotte Checkers on Saturday.

Why it matters: The transaction gives Florida forward depth after the club operated without an extra skater up front, per George Richards. The Panthers are also down to six healthy defensemen while Radko Gudas remains sidelined until next week.

What to watch: Reinhardt joins the active roster ahead of Saturday night's home game.
