UPDATE: A much smarter salary cap expert just corrected me. Moussa Cissé's $2.2 million contract for this season is not Via @TheSteinLine on X

What happened: Dallas cannot waive center Moussa Cisse and re-sign him to a two-way contract for the 2026-27 season, per Marc Stein. Because Cisse's salary is fully guaranteed above the league threshold for conversion, only rival teams would be eligible to sign him to a two-way deal if he clears waivers.

Why it matters: The clarification takes a waive-and-convert maneuver off the table after Dallas cut John Poulakidas and Seth Lundy to open one of its three two-way slots. Dallas matched a two-year offer sheet to retain Cisse in July, locking in the guaranteed cap hit on its standard roster.

What to watch: Dallas must either keep Cisse on a standard roster spot or absorb his dead money on waivers while filling the open two-way slot with another player before the regular season.
