What happened: New England Patriots coordinator Jeremy Springer is preparing to scheme against Las Vegas Raiders counterpart Joe DeCamillis. The veteran previously hired Springer for his initial professional role with the Los Angeles Rams.

Why it matters: Coaching familiarity often influences strategy in the kicking game, with staffs understanding each other's preferred coverages and blocking concepts. This shared background minimizes the element of surprise regarding fake punts or unusual alignment tendencies.

What to watch: The field position battle will test which coordinator better anticipates their former colleague's adjustments.
