What happened: The full designation came on Thursday's practice report ahead of the Jets game. Gonzalez played through a shoulder issue in the Jaguars game.

Why it matters: Gonzalez is New England's top outside corner after starting 14 games in 2025. His availability shapes the secondary's matchup against New York's receivers.

By the numbers: Gonzalez made 69 tackles in 14 games in 2025 with New England. He allowed a 43.4% completion rate in coverage last season, lowest in the NFL.

What to watch: Watch Friday's final report for his game designation. Kickoff against the Jets will confirm his workload.
