What happened: Payton Tolle joined analyst DeRo on MLB Network to examine the delivery mechanics behind his fastball progression. The Boston southpaw broke down how releasing the ball closer to home plate alters perceived velocity and narrows the reaction window for hitters.

Why it matters: The breakdown caps an active October media slate for the same Payton Tolle who drew Game 1 postseason buzz in late September. MLB tapped the left-hander as a 2026 World Series correspondent for Media Day and Game 1, a role that included questioning Junior Caminero ahead of the series opener.

What to watch: Tolle wraps up his World Series Game 1 correspondent assignment before shifting focus back to his offseason throwing program with Boston.
