What happened: The group comprises 14 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders. All three tournament games will stream on the club’s website.

Why it matters: The weekend offers an evaluation window before the NHL preseason begins Sept. 19. The Penguins will also assess Harrison Brunicke and Jake Livanavage after both appeared for Pittsburgh last season.

What to watch: Pittsburgh opens against Columbus at 3 p.m. Sept. 12. Games against host Detroit and Dallas follow on Sept. 13 and Sept. 15.
