What happened: Michael Penix Jr. greeted Andy Dalton's arrival in Atlanta's quarterback room by joking the team swapped one redhead for another. The remark followed Dalton joining the Falcons after opening the season around Philadelphia's quarterback room.

Why it matters: Atlanta pairs a young starter with a veteran backup who has run multiple offenses and huddle dynamics. That mix eases game-week preparation and sideline communication for Penix. Dalton's next step is learning Atlanta's calls and timing with its receivers.

What to watch: Watch Dalton's practice reps and how quickly Atlanta trusts him as the No. 2. The next home week will show where he slots in meetings and drills.
