Penix returns

What happened: Atlanta named Michael Penix Jr. its starter for Week 3 against Green Bay on Thursday night. The move follows a 34-3 loss to Carolina that dropped Atlanta to 0-2.

Why it matters: An 0-2 start leaves little margin before the NFC South gap widens. The offense has yet to reach the red zone through two games.

By the numbers: 0-2 record; 34-3 loss to Carolina; no red-zone trips in two games; last Penix start Nov. 16, 2025.

What to watch: Kickoff comes Thursday night against Green Bay. Watch red-zone execution and timing in his first start in 10 months.
