What happened: Pro Football Focus highlighted perimeter matchups featuring wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba against Mansoor Delane and receiver Malik Nabers opposite cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. for the upcoming regular-season slate. In the trenches, the schedule pits pass rusher Lukas Van Ness against offensive tackle Penei Sewell.

Why it matters: Isolation coverage from Delane and Stingley tests how consistently offenses can generate separation for Smith-Njigba, whose receiving craft drew recent breakdown, and Nabers on the outside. Meanwhile, the pass-protection battle between Sewell and Van Ness hinges on the availability of Van Ness, who carries a questionable designation due to an illness.

What to watch: Pregame warmups and final inactive lists will confirm whether Van Ness is cleared from his illness to face Sewell. On the perimeter, coverage assignments will dictate how frequently Stingley and Delane shadow Nabers and Smith-Njigba.
