Cowboys may have found something special in Malachi Lawrence https://t.co/xlojjoOCLN Via @PFF on X

What happened: PFF cast Malachi Lawrence as an early bright spot for Dallas, putting extra attention on the Cowboys' top defensive pick from the 2026 class. Lawrence entered the league as the No. 23 overall selection out of UCF.

Why it matters: Any quick return matters for a Dallas defense still sorting through pieces in the opening month. If Lawrence turns early buzz into steady production, the Cowboys get faster value from their top 2026 draft investment.

By the numbers: Lawrence was drafted 23rd overall in April and signed a four-year, $20.22 million rookie deal on June 5.

What to watch: The next measure is whether Lawrence's role grows into a consistent snap share over the next few weeks.
