What happened: Malachi Lawrence drew public praise from Coach during offseason work, according to a post from @dallascowboys. The update follows earlier team coverage of Lawrence as a first-round pick adjusting to pro coaching and technique demands.

Why it matters: June impressions do not settle a role, but they matter for a rookie pass rusher trying to earn trust before training camp. Lawrence's early progress is part of the run-up to the 2026 season, when reps and scheme fit will shape how quickly he can contribute.

What to watch: Watch whether the praise turns into first-team practice work when training camp opens. The next checkpoint is how Lawrence handles pads and preseason snaps.
