What happened: Detroit convened for media day to begin preseason workouts for 2026-27. Camp opens with new offensive looks installed to add 3-point shooting.

Why it matters: Continuity on the wing matters as Detroit sorts rotation roles before preseason games. Camp opened while center Jalen Duren remained away amid a contract stalemate after declining a five-year, $200M fully guaranteed offer.

What to watch: Detroit moves to full-squad practices before its first preseason date. Duren's Thursday contract deadline is the next camp flashpoint.
