Call off the treasure Hunt 🔎 We've claimed defenseman Daemon Hunt on waivers from MIN. Full details » https://t.co/Kr Via @PredsNHL on X

What happened: Nashville announced the waiver acquisition Saturday during the opening month of the 2026-27 regular season. Hunt originally signed with Minnesota on July 6 before entering the waiver process.

Why it matters: NHL waiver rules require the claiming club to keep the player on its active roster, slotting Hunt directly into Nashville's blue-line mix. Minnesota surrenders his contract rights without compensation after attempting to clear him through waivers.

What to watch: Nashville continues its schedule at PPG Paints Arena with a 6 p.m. CT puck drop.
