What happened: Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with RB Leipzig to find a solution on a deal for winger Yan Diomande. Leipzig are insisting on a fee higher than €100m to let Diomande leave immediately, while offering an alternative at a different price that would keep the player in Germany on loan for one season. PSG want to secure Diomande as soon as possible.

Why it matters: The move would mark PSG pulling ahead in a chase that has drawn multiple European clubs, having earlier been cast as the front-runner over Liverpool. The two-track structure — immediate buy above €100m or a season-long loan with Leipzig retaining the player — shows the gap between the clubs is over timing and price, not intent. Landing one of the most coveted young wingers on the market would be a statement addition to PSG's attack.

What to watch: Watch whether PSG meet Leipzig's valuation for an instant transfer or accept the loan-now, buy-later framework that keeps Diomande in Germany for another season.
