What happened: Michael Carrick evaluated Manchester United's recent performances, pointing to encouraging opening halves against Roma and Chelsea while acknowledging areas requiring immediate correction. The manager emphasized that while the squad showed clear signs of improvement, moments of vulnerability left them exposed. Carrick stressed that the team must address those shortcomings directly to carry positive momentum forward.

Why it matters: Consistency remains critical for Carrick as United aim to stabilize form across domestic and European competition following an uneven stretch. Turning positive opening periods into complete 90-minute performances will determine whether the squad can sustain progress in the league table and advance in cup play.

What to watch: United continue preparations for their upcoming Matchweek fixtures ahead of the international break as the squad looks to translate tactical improvements into consistent results.
