What happened: The player-for-player deal is pending physicals. Atwell returns to Los Angeles after joining Miami in free agency in March.

Why it matters: Atwell brings five seasons of experience in Los Angeles, giving the Rams familiar receiver depth. Miami adds a second-year running back who played exclusively on special teams as a rookie.

By the numbers: Atwell has 105 catches for 1,535 yards and five touchdowns in 64 regular-season games, averaging 14.6 yards per reception. Hunter appeared in five games as a rookie.

What to watch: The agreement can proceed after both players complete physicals. Their roles on the initial 53-man rosters are next to watch.
