Rams keep Atwell, Bailey on initial 53-man roster

Hunter was waived by Miami after the one-for-one swap.

What happened: Justin Dedich and Keagen Trost went to injured reserve, opening spots for Dylan McMahon and Bill Murray. Ty Simpson remained in the quarterback room behind Matthew Stafford.

Why it matters: The Tutu Atwell-Jarquez Hunter swap left Los Angeles with a rostered receiver while Miami moved on from Hunter. The injured-reserve designations reshape the Rams' offensive-line depth for the start of the season.

By the numbers: Los Angeles kept seven wide receivers and five tight ends, including second-round rookie Max Klare. Dedich and Trost must each miss at least four games.

What to watch: Los Angeles opens against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne. Puka Nacua's standing with the NFL remains an open matter entering Week 1.
