Rams just went from the biggest to smallest kicker in the league by signing Blake Grupe after cutting Harrison Mevis 🤯 Via @BleacherReport on X

What happened: Los Angeles Rams waived Harrison Mevis on Oct. 13 and added Blake Grupe off the Jets. Grupe, in his fourth season out of Notre Dame, had been signed by the Jets on Oct. 1. Mevis, in his second season out of Missouri, exits after the Monday loss.

Why it matters: The move resets the kicking spot after a 37-34 loss to Buffalo on Monday night. Los Angeles keeps a proven volume leg in Grupe, who handled 16 games in 2025, while moving on from a younger option with nine appearances.

By the numbers: Grupe made 29 of 37 field goals in 16 games in 2025, split between the Saints and the Colts. Mevis made 12 of 13 field goals in nine games in 2025 with the Rams.

What to watch: Grupe is in line to kick for Los Angeles in its next game. His early outings will decide whether the spot stays settled.
