What happened: The Baltimore Ravens released quarterback Austin Reed on Saturday. The first-year passer out of Western Kentucky had joined the active roster two days earlier after being signed to the practice squad on Nov. 2.

Why it matters: Baltimore restructured its quarterback depth after acquiring Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley placed on injured reserve, the Ravens pivoted to Brissett as their veteran option under center.

What to watch: Reed will hit the waiver wire, where he can be claimed by another club or potentially re-sign to Baltimore's practice squad if he clears.
