Former Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is being held out of their lineup for "trade-related" reasons, league sour Via @espn on X

What happened: Multiple teams remain in the mix, league sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan. Elliotte Friedman previously reported that Larkin would remain out until a trade.

Why it matters: Larkin requested a trade in June and lost the Detroit captaincy in September. His no-trade clause gives him a say in his destination; his list of acceptable teams reportedly grew to 10 last week.

By the numbers: Larkin's eight-year, $69.6 million contract carries an $8.7 million annual cap hit.

What to watch: A completed deal would establish Larkin's destination and Detroit's return.
