What happened: Larkin’s agent, Pat Brisson, said he had grown frustrated with the delay. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff said Detroit has spoken with teams Larkin would accept and fielded other calls.

Why it matters: The trade request now leaves Detroit with a lineup vacancy; the club recalled center Sheldon Dries under emergency conditions. Larkin’s no-trade clause means he must approve any move.

What to watch: Horcoff said any deal must serve the Red Wings’ long-term goals.
