What happened: Rex Ryan questioned Justin Herbert's form while evaluating the Los Angeles Chargers' ongoing struggles this regular season. The former NFL head coach pointed to a visible regression in the quarterback's play as the offense searches for consistency.

Why it matters: The critique underscores how quickly momentum has shifted since the Chargers highlighted Justin Herbert during the offseason as the centerpiece of their attack. Despite the rough start, the front office has turned away trade inquiries to keep the roster intact ahead of the deadline.

What to watch: Herbert and the Chargers look to rebound in their next scheduled regular-season game.
