What happened: Howard cleared the previous standard held by Sabrina Ionescu when her season total reached 129 made 3-pointers. The new mark rewrote one of the league's clearest single-season shooting benchmarks.

Why it matters: The milestone lands during Howard's awards push, with All-WNBA and defensive honors already part of the conversation this week. It also gives the 2026 season a new top line in a category that had been attached to Ionescu.

What to watch: Year-end awards voting is the next checkpoint after the record-setting season. Howard's outside shooting will remain a central storyline as postseason stakes rise.
