What happened: Rhyne Howard finished the FIBA Women's World Cup as a champion on Sunday. The title came one day after Howard scored five points in the semifinal's opening quarter.

Why it matters: The medal adds another international result to Howard's 2026 season before the WNBA stretch run resumes. Her defense was already a tournament storyline after she collected four steals in fewer than 10 minutes earlier Sunday.

What to watch: Watch whether Howard carries the tournament workload back into WNBA play and how her defensive form shapes late-season minutes.
