What happened: With Kevin Durant sidelined by a left ankle sprain for Game 3 versus the Lakers, the Rockets will start Reed Sheppard, Amen Thompson, Tari Eason, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun. This homegrown group marks the second-youngest starting lineup in NBA playoff history. Durant previously missed Game 1 with a tendon bruise.

Why it matters: Lakers lead the series 2-0, putting pressure on Houston's inexperienced starters to mount a comeback. Success for this young core could extend the first-round series and boost their playoff pedigree. Veteran-heavy Lakers present a tough test for the second-youngest playoff lineup ever.
