What happened: Fabrizio Romano reported that João Gomes to Atlético Madrid is at an advanced stage, while Atlético's pursuit of Éderson has been on standby since March. Romano added that Manchester United still have Éderson on their list, though no move is close, and that another Premier League club is also interested. Recent reporting outside the signal has placed a João Gomes deal at around €45 million.

Why it matters: The update suggests Atlético are shifting their midfield plans toward Gomes after failing to push the Éderson deal forward. It also keeps Manchester United in the frame for midfield business, while Wolves' relegation increases the likelihood of outgoing transfer activity around Gomes.

What to watch: Watch for a club-to-club agreement between Atlético Madrid and Wolves, or any confirmation of personal terms for Gomes. Also watch whether Manchester United or the unnamed Premier League club turn interest in Éderson into formal talks.
