What happened: Fabrizio Romano's new 'Here We Go' podcast with Men In Blazers details mounting turbulence at Real Madrid. Romano cites a significant fallout between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, with internal consequences still unfolding. He adds that Jose Mourinho has been open to the job since March, Toni Kroos is still mentioned internally, and assistant Alvaro Arbeloa is still expected to depart.

Why it matters: Real Madrid's coaching and midfield stability is one of the most consequential storylines in European football, shaping transfer markets, Champions League odds and LaLiga title races. A confirmed Tchouameni-Valverde rift would force squad restructuring, while Mourinho's openness reframes the manager market. Kroos resurfacing internally signals the club is weighing veteran leadership amid the chaos.

What to watch: Watch for official Real Madrid statements on the midfield situation and any movement on the manager search before the summer window opens. Romano typically follows podcast drops with concrete reporting in the days after.
