What happened: The Baltimore Ravens are turning to Joe Fagnano as their starting quarterback following a collegiate career that spanned seven seasons. Fagnano logged starting tenures at both Maine and UConn before entering the NFL as an undrafted rookie. He steps into the starting role this week after previously serving as Baltimore's emergency option.

Why it matters: Baltimore is reshaping its depth chart after starter Lamar Jackson was sidelined for thumb surgery. Coming off a 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Ravens also added quarterback Kedon Slovis to the active roster to provide backup depth.

What to watch: Fagnano is scheduled to make his first NFL start when the Ravens host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football.
