What happened: ESPN promoted Sunday night's Buffalo Sabres-Montreal Canadiens Game 3, scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN and the ESPN App. The second-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series is tied 1-1 after Buffalo's Game 1 win and Montreal's 5-1 response in Game 2, following Sabres open second round with Game 1 win over Canadiens in Buffalo.

Why it matters: Game 3 is the first matchup of the series in Montreal and gives one side a 2-1 edge in a tight second-round set. It also matters for playoff tracking because the series has already swung sharply through two games, with Montreal answering Buffalo's opener by leveling the matchup.

What to watch: Watch for whether Montreal can hold serve at Bell Centre after its Game 2 blowout and whether Buffalo responds cleaner with the puck on the road. Sam Carrick's status is also a near-term lineup item to monitor before puck drop.
