What happened: New Orleans held its first public practice Thursday after opening training camp Wednesday. Shough enters his second season as the starting quarterback, while Tyson begins his first NFL camp.

Why it matters: The pairing gives the Saints a new downfield combination after selecting Tyson eighth overall. His integration is central to an offense being built around Shough.

By the numbers: Shough went 5-4 in nine starts last season, completing 221 of 327 passes for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. Tyson was the No.

What to watch: Friday's public practice shifts to shells and runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The next padded session is scheduled for Monday.
