What happened: Sal Stewart currently leads the major leagues in opposite-field home runs. The infielder has made a habit of driving pitches the other way during his 2026 campaign.

Why it matters: His plate approach allows him to handle low-and-away fastballs effectively. The power has translated even in difficult situations, with multiple opposite-field shots coming on two-strike counts.

What to watch: Opposing pitchers will need to adjust how they attack the outer half of the strike zone against him.
