RT @MLB: Not only is Sal Stewart the first player to 100 RBI, but he is the first rookie with a 100-RBI season since Pet Via @Buster_ESPN on X

What happened: Pete Alonso was the last rookie to produce a 100-RBI season, reaching the mark in 2019. Stewart is also the first MLB player to reach triple digits this season.

Why it matters: The milestone strengthens Stewart's résumé in the 2026 rookie race. A rookie has not finished a season as MLB's RBI leader in 76 years.

By the numbers: Stewart has 100 RBIs and 28 home runs while batting .261. He ranks first among qualified NL rookies in homers and RBIs and seventh in batting average.

What to watch: The remaining schedule will determine whether Stewart finishes atop MLB's RBI leaderboard.
