What happened: Sam Hauser arrived with his son in matching Buzz Lightyear and Woody costumes ahead of Friday's Emirates NBA Cup contest. The pregame arrival coincided with the opening night of group-stage play.

Why it matters: The holiday outfits marked Halloween weekend arrivals across the league as tournament play commenced. Group-stage matchups establish early positioning toward the knockout rounds in December.

What to watch: Tournament group play continues throughout November across all six groups.
