"The Dark Side" returns tomorrow 🫣 @Seahawks NEvsSEA – Wednesday 8:20pm ET on NBC/Peacock Stream on @NFLPlus https://t. Via @NFL on X

What happened: Seattle's title defense begins at Lumen Field. NFL+ will also stream the nationally televised matchup.

Why it matters: The game opens the 2026 regular season one night earlier than the league's traditional Thursday kickoff. It renews the Super Bowl LX pairing seven months after Seattle's 29-13 win.

By the numbers: Since 1950, only four NFL games have been played on a Wednesday. Seattle will become the ninth current franchise to play on every day of the week.

What to watch: The opening inactive list will provide the next personnel checkpoint before kickoff.
