What happened: Adam Schefter disclosed Thursday that the Seattle tight end earlier projected for injured reserve underwent a season-ending shoulder operation. The procedure follows Oct. 19 evaluations that initially pointed toward at least a four-game absence after he exited game action doubtful to return.

Why it matters: Losing one of their top tight end options for the remainder of the 2026 regular season forces the Seahawks to rely on tight end depth added to the practice squad earlier this week. Per ESPN (as of Sept. 29, 2026), Arroyo recorded 15 receptions for 179 yards and one touchdown across 13 games with Seattle in 2025.

What to watch: The 3-3 Seahawks now navigate their upcoming regular-season slate with a shorthanded tight end room ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
