What happened: The former Buffalo Bills head coach is using Friday's stop to study how Los Angeles operates during his time away from coaching. The visit is part of a broader effort to observe multiple organizations.

Why it matters: The process keeps McDermott connected to the league while adding new organizational perspectives before a possible return to coaching. His track record makes that preparation relevant to a future hiring cycle.

What to watch: Further visits would offer a clearer view of how McDermott is preparing for his next coaching opportunity.
