What happened: A six-time UFC headliner has signed with a new promotion after an extended absence. The deal ends a 20-month gap since his last fight.

Why it matters: Adding a proven headliner gives the new promotion immediate marquee value. The length of the layoff puts timing and form at the center of the return.

What to watch: Watch for the promotion to announce a debut date and first opponent.
