What happened: Matthew Stafford described the tight ends as playing for each other and for the team. The comment arrived Oct. 21 during regular-season preparation for Week 7.

Why it matters: Stafford is in his 18th NFL season after completing 388 of 597 passes for 4,707 yards with 46 touchdowns in 2025 with the Rams. Veteran backing often stabilizes a position group handling protection calls and red-zone assignments. That stability carries weight with the club sitting 2-4 entering the late-October schedule.

What to watch: A Week 7 road matchup Oct. 25 will show how deep the tight end rotation goes.
