What happened: Pittsburgh tried out Beau Brade, Austin Brown and Dan Jackson on Tuesday. The move leaves report/article/lions-sign-fitzgerald-to-roster-place-maddox-on-ir-2026-09-22">Bishop Fitzgerald</a> now on Detroit's roster. None of the three was signed by Tuesday evening.

Why it matters: Pittsburgh is thin at safety behind its starters entering Week 4 preparations. Brade brings the only NFL experience as a special-teams regular with Baltimore and New York. Brown and Jackson offer developmental depth from Wisconsin and Georgia.

By the numbers: Brade: 26 games, no starts, 400 special-teams snaps and 12 defensive snaps. Brown: 40 tackles and three passes defensed in final Wisconsin season.

What to watch: Watch whether Pittsburgh adds one to the practice squad before Sunday.
