What happened: During a podcast appearance with former NFL teammates, Josh Allen revealed he routinely needles John Elway over Denver passing on him in the draft. Allen explained that a text message from the organization on draft morning had convinced him he was heading to the Broncos.

Why it matters: The decision shaped the modern NFL landscape, leaving Denver to search for stability under center while Allen developed into a perennial contender in Buffalo. The Broncos have since rebounded in 2026, compiling a 6-2 record on a four-game winning streak.

What to watch: Denver looks to preserve its second-seed standing as the regular season enters its second half.
