What happened: Manager Stephen Vogt stated he would put the Cleveland Guardians up against any team in the world in a three-game series after the Tampa Bay Rays tied the ALCS 2-2. Tampa Bay took Game 4 by a 7-3 score behind a ninth-inning two-run home run to right field, setting up a decisive best-of-three stretch starting with Game 5 on Sunday at 5:08.

Why it matters: While the same Stephen Vogt who shrugged off a Cleveland rainout ahead of the rescheduled postseason matchup is projecting calm confidence, the Tampa Bay Rays just proved they can break open late innings against Cleveland pitching. Momentum in a shortened three-game sprint favors the club coming off a four-run road victory rather than a Guardians lineup that managed three runs in Game 4.
