What happened: Taylor Calheira converted a feed from Andre after an extended run to put Sporting KC on the board against Real Salt Lake. The strike trimmed the margin to 2-1 after RSL doubled its advantage in the 14th minute.

Why it matters: Pulling a goal back before halftime keeps Sporting KC within striking distance after conceding twice in the opening quarter-hour. Calheira, who recorded his first MLS brace in a 4-3 loss on Sept. 6, continues to provide attacking production during the regular-season run-in.

What to watch: Sporting KC presses for an equalizer as the regular-season match against Real Salt Lake continues.
