What happened: Despite an impressive postseason showing, Terrence Shannon Jr. is emerging as a potential trade asset for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The restructuring of the roster around newly acquired Lamelo Ball and returning star Anthony Edwards has clouded the wing's long-term fit as a ball-dominant creator. The forward could be viewed as an equivalent to a first-round pick in trade value on the open market.

Why it matters: Shannon proved critical as a shot creator against the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs, but his need for constant on-ball reps clashes with Minnesota's established hierarchy. Moving him might yield a complementary piece that fits better around the existing core. A trade would allow the Timberwolves to capitalize on his elevated value following a breakout playoff performance.

What to watch: Watch if Minnesota quietly gauges the trade market for Shannon before training camp or holds him into the regular season to further showcase his offensive abilities.
