GM Adam Peters shares an update on P Tress Way and LB Kain Medrano https://t.co/Ir5E5u1f1G Via @Commanders on X

What happened: Way is dealing with a pectoral injury, while Medrano has a hamstring issue, GM Adam Peters said. Both were listed on the club’s 2026 training camp roster before opening day.

Why it matters: Way signed an extension in February, making his recovery relevant to a position already settled for 2026. Medrano loses early practice time in a seven-player linebacker group.

By the numbers: Way has played 196 regular-season games and holds franchise records with 39,031 punt yards, a 46.9-yard average and 325 punts inside the 20.

What to watch: The next marker is when each returns to practice and whether either is available for preseason work.
