What happened: The Minnesota Twins hired Brian Reith as pitching coach and Ben Myers as assistant athletic trainer. Reith replaces Pete Maki, who was let go last month. Myers joins the major league athletic training staff.

Why it matters: Minnesota is resetting its pitching leadership entering the offseason. Reith arrives after five seasons at Triple-A Durham, giving the club a development background at the top of the staff.

What to watch: Reith will begin work with the existing pitching staff ahead of spring training. Any further coaching additions will outline the offseason pitching plan.
